County, TCDA seek one vision on new toll road

With the Suncoast Connector Task Force set to meet again in a few weeks, the Taylor County Commission and Taylor County Development Authority (TCDA) are working together to develop local guiding principles to present a unified vision on how they want the new roadway to be built if it does indeed pass through the county.

The two boards held a joint workshop on Thursday, Jan. 16, to discuss the project, which is one of three proposed toll road expansions approved by the Florida Legislature and Gov. Ron DeSantis in 2019. The 150-mile Suncoast extension is expected to begin in Citrus County and travel northward to Georgia through eight counties, including Taylor.
