    Trout changes begin Feb. 1

    Spotted seatrout is perhaps the most popular sport fish targeted off the Taylor County coast, and beginning Saturday, Feb. 1, many of the rules and regulations governing what anglers can bring home will change.

    The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) adopted the new rules in December, despite vocal opposition from Taylor County fishing captains and tourism officials who said the changes will have a negative impact on the local economy.
