Clerk of court will not seek re-election

Capping a career of public service that has spanned more than 57 years — including the past 28 in her current elected position — Clerk of Circuit Court Annie Mae Murphy has announced she will retire at the end of her current term.

In a letter hand-delivered to Perry Newspapers this week, Murphy states “This is to officially notify you and the voters of Taylor County that I will not seek re-election as Clerk of Courts for the next term.”
