County balances budget; taxes stay level

The Taylor County Commission has balanced its 2013-14 budget while keeping its tax rates the same after utilizing a significant amount of cash carry forward funds from the previous year to help make up a portion of the $700,000 general fund deficit with which it began the process.

The commission held a special meeting Friday, July 26, to continue its budget discussions that had carried through two previous workshops.
