GP Foley held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday to mark the completion of an $89 million project to transform the local facility into a 100-percent specialty grade cellulose mill.

In front of a brand-new 100,000 square foot warehouse, Foley leadership, the Union Executive Committee and local community leaders joined members of Georgia-Pacific’s Foley Cellulose “Project Osprey” team for an official ribbon cutting ceremony Friday, Feb. 7.

“Project Osprey” is an $89 million investment in the Foley Cellulose mill by Georgia-Pacific to transform Foley into a 100-percent specialty grade cellulose mill, which utilizes Foley’s strength and knowledge as a 60-year specialty pulp mill,” said GP Public Affairs Manager Scott Mixon.
