    EMS concerns voiced

    Two months after Doctors’ Memorial Hospital (DMH) officials told the Taylor County Commission that they could no longer continue to operate emergency medical services (EMS) under the terms of the existing agreement, representatives on both sides continue to seek a solution.

    Members of the DMH Board of Directors addressed the commission during a special workshop on Dec. 9, stating that falling revenues and increased costs within EMS had resulted in the hospital being forced to cover financial losses in the department in each of the past two fiscal years.
