County seeking state funds for generators

In an effort to strengthen the county’s infrastructure in the event of a future disaster, the Taylor County Commission is seeking state funding assistance to potentially purchase a number of generators for county facilities.

According to Taylor County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) Division of Emergency Management Director Kristy Anderson, the county is eligible to receive up to $2,787,971.95 due to impacts from Hurricane Michael in 2018. (By comparison, Bay County is eligible for $200 million in funding assistance.
