Chicken dinner benefit for Murray is Feb. 29

Taylor County CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) and the Perry Police Department (PPD) will host a “Chicken Pickin’” lunch benefit Saturday, Feb. 29, at Save-A-Lot from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

All proceeds will benefit PPD Det. Bill Murray, who recently underwent a heart transplant.

Tickets are $10 each. Dinners will include half a chicken and two sides.

Tickets are available from any CERT member and at the PPD.

Also on that Saturday, volunteers will be at Walmart selling tickets for drawings to win an inshore fishing trip, BBQ grill or a gift package from Pampered & Polished.
