    Ashton Brian Burns

    Ashton Brian Burns, 14, passed away unexpectedly on February 22, 2020, in Ocala. Ashton was born November 20, 2005, in Tallahassee to Kenneth Brian Burns and Ashlea Brooke Gilpin Burns.

    Ashton was a student at Hillcrest Public School in Ocala. He was a loving young man who was always happy and smiling — always!

    Ashton loved the water, riding side by sides, bouncing on his trampoline and swinging on his custom built swing set.

    He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Jerry Valentine.

    He is survived by: his father, Brian Burns, and step-mother Lori, of Perry; his mother, Ashlea Burns, and step-dad, Jeff Chauncey, of Ocala; a step-brother, Jeffrey Sullivan; his paternal grandmother, Charline Valentine, of Perry; his maternal grandparents, Art and Maynette Gilpin, of Perry; his paternal great-grandmother, Mae Hathcock, maternal great-grandparents, A.B. and Bobbie Murphy, and Ed Gilpin, all of Perry; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

    Funeral services for Ashton will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 28 at Crosspoint Baptist Fellowship with Bro. Eddie Pridgeon officiating.

    Interment will follow in Pineview Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service starting at 10 a.m. also at Crosspoint Baptist Fellowship. All arrangements are under the care of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
