    William Elliott “Billy” Brown

    William Elliott “Billy” Brown, 69, departed this life on Feb. 26, 2020, in Perry.

    He was born Aug. 6, 1950, in St. Marks to Joseph Aaron Brown and Wilma Padgett Brown.

    Billy honorably served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Brown was a Christian and attended Charity Baptist Church. Billy was a longtime commercial fisherman out of the Aucilla River, where lived and grew up as young man. He also was an iron worker for many years with Watkins Engineering.

    Billy enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting. He loved to watch his Florida State Seminoles. Billy was a family man, who loved his wife, children and grandchildren, and enjoyed spending all the time he could with them.

    Billy was preceded in death by: his father, Joseph Aaron Brown; his brother, David Brown; a sister, Iris Ann Brown; and an infant daughter, Shannon Brown.

    Mr. Brown is survived by: his wife of 37 years, Linda Brown; a son, William Elliot “Billy” Brown Jr.; four daughters, Shannon Brown Lewis, Lindsay (Robert) Calhoun, Talina (Lee) Dorman and Lynda (Bradley) Mauldin; his sisters, Melody Evans, Rhonda Diver, Tammy White, Julie Matsinger and Wanda Cordoba; his brother, Danny Joe Brown; and his grandbabies, Logan, Rhiannon, Samantha, Billy, III, Jayce, Brilynn, Elina, Bristynn, Ashton, Hinton, Caseton, Braden and Lliam; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

    Funeral services were held on Sunday, March 1, at 3 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home of Perry with Brother  Cricket Watson officiating. Interment services followed immediately afterward in Pineview Memorial Cemetery. The family will received friends one hour prior to the funeral service.
