Rec leagues canceled

Although there have been no confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the county, the Taylor County Commission is taking measures to protect the public, including canceling organized sporting events at the Taylor County Sports Complex and limiting permits for social gatherings at local parks to 10 people or less.

In an abundance of caution, the commission also passed a local state of emergency Tuesday morning to help facilitate state and federal reimbursement in case local funds are spent due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.
