Hope remains: Rising from the ashes

An old hope chest, fished from the blown out window of a burning house, is all that remains of Lynn Brown’s personal belongings after a Feb. 21 blaze claimed everything she owned.

Brown, best known as “Coach Brown” from Taylor County Primary School where she has worked for nearly 20 years, and her boyfriend, Ronnie Mott, had gone to Wal-Mart to pick up some items for the weekend when they received word the Athena residence they were renting had ignited.
