    Locals help fill mask shortage

    As the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic continues to deplete the nation’s stock of N95 respirators and loose-fitting surgical masks, creative Taylor Countians have come up with a do-it-yourself version to help protect local healthcare workers.

    As the availability of medical-grade masks dwindle, individuals and church groups from Perry Church of Christ, St. John’s Christian Fellowship and First Baptist Church of Perry have created the “Taylor County Masks” Facebook group to help healthcare workers and high-risk individuals reduce the likelihood of contracting the respiratory illness.
