Sixty years of history went up in flames Saturday when a fire destroyed the County Line Bar in Tennille. Constructed in 1959, the bar/lounge had only recently re-opened.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the blaze, which was first reported around 5:20 a.m. County and volunteer units, along with the Florida Forestry Service (FFS), all responded to the call. The northbound lanes of U.S. 19 were closed for several hours with firetrucks and tankers blocking traffic while firefighters battled the flames.
