$450,000 project to replace docks moves forward

A much-anticipated project to install new docks at the Steinhatchee public boat ramp is moving forward after the Taylor County Commission awarded the contract to the lowest bidder and agreed to provide an additional $5,000 in local funds.

The commission made the decision at its meeting Tuesday morning, awarding the contract to Harbor Marine Dock Company, Inc., which was the lowest of seven bidders at $457,700.
