Review: Wahlberg, Washington are fully loaded in action-filled ‘2 Guns’

“2 Guns” is an action thriller starring Mark Wahlberg (“Ted”) and Denzel Washington (“Flight”) from Icelandic director Baltasar Kormákur, probably best known in the U.S. for 2012’s “Contraband, also starring Wahlberg.

“2 Guns” is a solid action movie with a lot of moving parts as far as the story is concerned, but both Wahlberg and Washington deliver excellent performances.  Kormákur knows his actors’ strength and the film plays to them, creating a fun, violent adventure, but one that is more serious than the trailers imply.

If you’re looking for a solid R-rated action film, this is definitely one to check out. Wahlberg and Washington’s performances are worth the prices of admission alone.

The film is rated R for violence throughout, language and brief nudity.
