    Supervisors seek flexibility for upcoming elections

    Although Florida’s primary election is not until August, and the general election won’t follow until November, the state’s election supervisors are petitioning Gov. Ron DeSantis for relief from what they fear will be a severe shortage of poll workers.

    In a letter sent to DeSantis on April 7, the Florida Supervisor of Elections Association, of which Taylor County Supervisor Dana Southerland is a member, requested several emergency changes to Florida’s election laws in order to conduct both the primary and general elections with their usual number of poll workers.
