With an average response rate of 42.6%, nearly 60% of Taylor County’s “self-response” residents are jeopardizing the county’s future school, hospital and food assistance funding by not participating in the 2020 U.S. Census.
The U.S. Census Bureau’s mail-out surveys began arriving in certain Taylor County mailboxes in mid-March. Those in the designated “self-response area” are residents whose mail goes directly to their home and who are not on a rural route.
