    Rock truck vs. SUV injures 3

    Traffic on Highway 98 ground to a near halt Wednesday afternoon with debris from a two-vehicle crash littering the roadway. Two Perry women were seriously injured when their SUV was struck from behind by a loaded dump truck. The SUV was attempting to make a left-hand turn into the Cabbage Creek Tract boat ramp entrance and had slowed to a stop in the eastbound lane.

    Two sisters were seriously injured when their vehicle was hit from behind by a dump truck loaded with rock Wednesday afternoon on Highway 98 West.

    Rebecca Sue Jerrells, 59, and Jill Whidden, 66, both of Perry, were airlifted to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. The truck driver, Klayton Rowell, 46, also of Perry, received minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment as well.
