Fred Murray

Mr. Fred Murray, 73, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at his home in Perry.

He was born and raised in Lafayette County before moving to Perry in 1981. He was an electrician with Martin Electronics for 17 years.

He was a vocational instructor of electricians with the Florida Department of Corrections in Mayo before retiring. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam in 1966-67.

He was a member of the American Legion Steinhatchee Post and Veterans Of Foreign Wars (VFW) in Perry. He loved to plant and grow vegetables.

He was preceded in death by: his daughter, Denna Stephens; a brother, Billy Murray; and his parents, Dick and Hazel Murray.

He is survived by: his wife of 52 years, Suzanne Murray of Perry; a son, Scott Murray and his wife, Lindsey Shaw Murray of Perry; a grandson, Emerson Murray of Perry; three brothers; and four sisters. Upon Mr. Murray’s request, no services will be held.
