    Assistance for CTE students

    Just over $99,000 was injected into the local economy Thursday with the distribution of individual payments to some 87 full-time and part-time Career Technical Education (CTE) students at Big Bend Technical College (BBTC).

    The distribution was made possible thanks to nearly $200,000 in funding the technical college received under the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief & Economic Security (CARES) Act.

    “The funding came with the stipulation that 50 percent of it be distributed to CTE students. We decided the best way to do that was to divide it among all of our eligible students,” BBTC Director
