Commissioners vote 3-2 to re-open public boat ramps

Toward the end of a lengthy and emotionally-charged four-hour meeting, the Taylor County Commission voted 3-2 Monday evening to re-open all county-controlled boat ramps beginning Thursday, May 7.

Concrete barriers are scheduled to be removed by Thursday morning, opening up access for the first time since April 2, when county commissioners voted unanimously to close all county public boat ramps indefinitely due to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
