Man jailed in ex-wife’s murder

An eight-month-old baby was discovered crying at his mother’s feet and covered in her blood early Saturday morning, May 9, when Taylor County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) deputies responded to a burglary alarm at a residence on Foley Cut Off Road.

The body of Loriann “Lori” Burns, 40, was found in a back bedroom with her infant son at her feet. Burns’ former husband, Kenneth Brian Burns, 44, with whom she had an “on-again, off-again” relationship, was arrested for her murder when he returned to the residence the following day – Mother’s Day – May 10.
