3-2 vote to allow vacation rentals to re-open

    Posted on May 22, 2020

During an emergency meeting Thursday afternoon, the Taylor County Commission voted 3-2 to submit a plan to the state for re-opening short-term vacation rentals in the county, joining at least seven other Gulf Coast counties who had their own plans approved earlier in the week.

As part of “Full Phase One” of Gov. Ron DeSantis’ “Safe. Smart. Step-by-Step” plan to re-open Florida, which went in effect Monday, May 18, counties were allowed to seek approval to allow vacation rentals by submitting a “county vacation safety plan” to the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR).
