Several locals holding homemade signs gathered in front of the Taylor County Courthouse Monday to protest police brutality, racism and the death of George Floyd, who died after being arrested by police for allegedly passing a counterfeit $20 bill at a store in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
“My goal is to unite everyone,” said Akeem Price of Perry, who said he was the first person to begin peacefully protesting downtown over the weekend.
