Virgie Lene Thomley, 84, passed away on May 20, 2020 at her home in Perry surrounded by her family. Virgie was born October 7, 1935, in Decatur, Ga., to Oliver Crumbwell Woodward and Mary Ethel Gunn Woodward.
Mrs. Thomley was Christian of the Baptist faith. Virgie worked as a Machine Operator with Consolidated Forest Products for 17 years. Virgie found pleasure in solving word puzzles, Suduko and playing Yahtzee. In her spare time she enjoyed fishing and camping.
Virgie was preceded in death by her son David L. Alday, a grandson Daniel Mosley, her parents Oliver and Ethel Woodward, her brothers Buster Woodward and Jimmy Woodward, and her sisters Eula Bennett, Inez Johnson, Louvenia Pressnell, and Iantha Jones.
Mrs. Thomley is survived by her husband of 46 years, Mr. James Thomley; her children, Jack Alday, Phillip Alday, Ronnie Alday, Anita Alday, James Thomley and Amy Alday; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and many, many special friends.
A small family service will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at 2 p.m. Friends are invited to come see the family at Pineview Memorial Cemetery at 3 p.m. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
