Doris E. Stephens

Mrs. Doris E. Stephens, 91, passed away on May 29, 2020, at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville Beach.

Mrs. Stephens was born June 14, 1928, in Perry to George Bass and Nita Marie McCullers Bass.

She was a graduate of Taylor County High School and worked as a Clerk for the Taylor County Tax Collectors office for many years.

She was of the Baptist faith and a member of First Baptist Church of Jacksonville.

In her spare time, she enjoyed Major League Baseball as an avid Tampa Bay Rays fan.

Mrs. Stephens was preceded in death by: her parents, George and Nita Bass; her husband, Glenwood L. Stephens; and four siblings, David Bass, Hilda Hess, Adaline Bass and Idell Kuhn.

She is survived by: two sons, Darryl Stephens, and wife LaJune, of Perry, and Donald Stephens, and wife Judy, of Crawfordville; one daughter, Debbie Addison, and husband Greg, of Jacksonville; a sister, Dorothy Morgan, of Jacksonville; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Graveside funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June  2, 2020, Pineview Memorial Cemetery with Bro. Bradley Addison officiating.

All arrangements are under the care of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
