The local Department of Health (DOH) will offer free coronavirus (COVID-19) testing to Taylor County residents each day next week at a drive-thru site set up at DOH-Taylor’s office.
From 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., Taylor County residents can be tested for COVID-19 at 1215 N. Peacock Avenue in Perry Monday, June 8, through Friday, June 12.
No symptoms or a doctor’s referral are necessary to be tested, but registration is required as there are a limited number of tests available for each day. To register, call DOH-Taylor at (850) 584-5087.
To be tested, an individual must be 18 years of age or older, have a valid ID and have access to a workable window.
Throughout the month, DOH-Taylor’s drive-thru testing sites have tested 321 people for the coronavirus.
According to figures released by the DOH at 11 a.m. Thursday, 1,067 people in Taylor County had been tested for coronavirus, yielding 26 positive results (2.4% of the tested population).
The four latest cases include a 39-year-old male, a 35-year-old female, a 17-year-old female and a 6-year-old female, all of whom came into contact with a confirmed positive coronavirus case.
