‘Walk Against Racism’ planned here Monday

    Posted on June 5, 2020

Several local residents holding homemade signs gathered in front of the Taylor County Courthouse Wednesday to protest police brutality, racism and the death of George Floyd, who died after being arrested by police for allegedly passing a counterfeit $20 bill at a store in Minneapolis, Minn.

Several current and former local residents are planning a peaceful protest march on Monday, June 8 to “Walk Against Racism.”

Organizers say the march is scheduled to begin at Perrytown Apartments on Warner Avenue at 10 a.m. Monday and wind through the surrounding neighborhoods before turning right at the intersection with Highway 19 and coming to an end at the field across from Munchies convenience store.
