Weekend food program is awarded $2,000 grant

Last year, a number of community-minded volunteers saw a need within Taylor County schools, where more than 70 percent of students were eligible for free or reduced meals.

And so, the Taylor County Schools Weekend Food Program was born, eventually growing to the point that by the end of the school year, it was providing weekly food to some 80 families.
