Asleep at the wheel?

Taylor County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a single-vehicle roll-over accident on Hwy. 221 near Boyd at around 12:30 p.m. Thursday.

According to information gathered at the scene, the driver of an Orkin Pest Control truck was traveling south on Hwy. 221 when he apparently fell asleep at the wheel. The work truck reportedly drifted off the road and flipped three times before coming to a final rest in a ditch on the passenger side of the vehicle. The driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to the local hospital by Doctors’ Memorial Hospital emergency medical service (EMS) workers.
