Murder suspect remains at large

It’s been a month since former Taylor County resident Samuel Lee Hamilton Jr. was fatally shot in Gainesville and the United States Marshal’s Service and Gainesville Police Department (GPD) are still looking for the suspected shooter.

According to GPD officials, they have received unverified information that the suspect, Larry Whitehead Jr., 26, may have fled to the Miami area.
