Scalloping in northern Taylor opens July 1

The recreational bay scallop season for Franklin County through the northwestern portion of Taylor County opens today (Wednesday, July 1) and will remain open through Sept. 24.

The rest of Taylor County opened for scallop harvest on June 15 and will remain open through Labor Day.
