Tangible property values jump $97 million

If current property tax rates remain at their current levels, local governmental agencies should have some extra tax revenues to work with when they begin preparing their upcoming 2020-21 fiscal year budgets.

According to Taylor County Property Appraiser Bruce Ratliff, the addition of new equipment and machinery by several large manufacturing businesses over the past year resulted in a $97 million increase in tangible personal property tax values for the coming budget year.
