    DOH confirms 91-year-old was Taylor’s second COVID-19 death

    Taylor County reported its second coronavirus-related death this past week, as local COVID-19 positive cases topped 200.

    According to the Department of Health, a 91-year-old female who passed away on July 16 was classified as a coronavirus-related death just two days after testing positive for the virus.

    Additionally, two local residents have been hospitalized, bringing Taylor County’s hospitalization rate to five percent (down from the reported seven percent on July 15) and the total number of patients hospitalized since the outbreak began to 12.

    To date, Taylor County has administered 2,401 coronavirus tests, with 9.2 percent of those tests returning as positive for COVID-19.
