City mask mandate remains, but with changes

A move to repeal a mandatory face mask ordinance within the City of Perry failed by a 3-2 vote during an emergency meeting held by the city council Friday morning, July 17.

Council members Alan Hall and Ward Ketring voted to repeal the face covering mandate, while council members Mike Deming, Shirlie Hampton and Venita Woodfaulk supported keeping the requirement in place.
