A deadly domestic situation unfolded in the heart of downtown Perry Friday afternoon, shattering the lives of multiple families while members of a heartbroken community could only watch helplessly from sidewalks and parking lots surrounding the local post office.

The Luther, Jansky and Flatwoods’ Cafe families were forever changed following a double homicide that claimed the lives of Heather Luther, 33, of Perry, and Kirk Jansky, 31, of Monticello
