Alice Louise Willis, 91, passed away on July 16, 2020, in Madison.
She was born Aug. 10, 1928, in Chicago, Ill., to John Robert Overstreet and Lily Mae Kincaid Overstreet.
Mrs. Willis was a member of Midway Baptist Church of Perry. Alice met her husband, Charles Clifton Willis, by writing him letters while he was in the service. They later met in Covington, Ky., and soon after were married and started a family.
Sometime later they moved to Perry, where she has resided the last 76 years.
She enjoyed playing cards and watching her cooking shows. She loved being visited by her children and grandchildren.
Alice was preceded in death by: her husband Charles Clifton Willis; her sons, Charles William Willis and Jerry Wayne Willis, her parents, John and Lily Mae Overstreet; three brothers; and a sister.
Mrs. Willis is survived by: her two daughters, Shirley and Charles McDonald, and Sharon Carter; a sister, Gloria Davis of Kentucky; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Monday, July 20, at 2 p.m. at Lake Bird Methodist Church with Brother Marc Pargo officiating.
