The future of local ambulance service remains unclear after a lengthy discussion between the Taylor County Commission and Doctors’ Memorial Hospital (DMH) Board of Directors during the commission’s budget workshop Monday.
The DMH Board has been seeking additional financial support from the county to operate emergency medical services (EMS) since December, when hospital officials told the commission its EMS department had reported losses in both the 2018 and 2019 fiscal years.
