The Taylor County Commission has submitted an amendment to its State Expenditure Plan (SEP) to seek RESTORE Act funding for the acquisition of the Spring Warrior boat ramp site.
The county is expected to receive $12.6 million in Pot 3 RESTORE Act funding, resulting from penalties, fines and fees assessed following the 2020 Deepwater Horizon oil spill, which will be paid out over 15 years. This is in addition to the $4 million in Pot 1 funds the county is using for canal dredging projects along the coast.
