Dredging delayed until next summer

After years of planning and two failed attempts, Taylor County has received its first grant award from federal Deepwater Horizon oil spill funds to cover the cost of planning and design of the Keaton Beach canal and Steinhatchee boat ramp basic dredging projects.

The Taylor County Commission approved the grant award agreement with the U.S. Department of Treasury during its July 6 meeting.
