City opens budget with big deficit

After being presented with a projected $617,000 budget shortfall, the City of Perry is expected to be faced with some tough decisions during upcoming budget discussions in order to balance the budget for the upcoming 2020-21 fiscal year.

“It is going to be a difficult budget process,” City Manager Taylor Brown predicted during the city council’s July 28 meeting.
