After a fast start to the early voting period for the upcoming Primary Election — slated for next Tuesday, Aug. 18 — the pace has since slowed, but total voter turnout has still topped 22% with a week to go until election day.
As of Tuesday at press time, a total of 2,833 of the county’s 12,366 active registered voters had cast their ballot. This includes 1,763 who voted by mail and 1,070 who have participated in early voting.
