The Taylor County Commission is seeking third-party firms to potentially provide ambulance service for the county, and the eventual price tag is expected to be higher than the $450,000 the commission has been providing Doctors’ Memorial Hospital (DMH) each year to run emergency medical services (EMS).
Where the county will find that additional funding was the subject of a discussion held at the commission’s Aug. 3 meeting, with Commission Chair Pam Feagle suggesting they look at the existing local one-cent sales tax levy.
