Vearl Allison Flanders Sr. 61, passed away on April 19, 2020, in Tallahassee.
He was born April 23, 1958, in Perry to Annie Ruth Jones Prince and the late Ocie Willie Flanders Sr.
He was a member of New Jerusalem P.B. Church, where he was a faithful usher while he was there.
He was educated in the Taylor County School System, graduating in 1976.
Vearl worked in the log woods for most of his life. Later, he worked for J.B. Tires, and he and John Brannen (J.B.) became good friends.
He was preceded in death by: his father, Ocie Willie Flanders Sr.; brother, Ocie Willie Flanders Jr.; and sister, Shirley Ann Flanders.
He leaves to cherish his legacy: his loving mother, Annie Ruther Jones Prince; his children, Lyntoria (Arick) Colson, Vearonica Phelps, Vearl (Kendra) Flanders Jr. and Jermaine Flanders Sr.; grandchildren, Ty’Once Fead, Jaforee Johnson, Katilyn Colson, Jermaine Flanders Jr. and Kotez Flowers; and brothers, Randolph (Theresa), Kenneth (Peggie), Barry, Alfred, Darryl (Jackie) and Kevin (Nailah).
Memorial services will be held Saturday, Aug. 15, at 11 a.m. At New Bethe M.B. Church with Pastor Sinclair Madry officiating.
Family and friends are reminded that face masks are required.
