Based on comments made at a special virtual meeting this past Friday morning, the City of Perry’s mandatory mask ordinance will likely be voted back into effect at the city council’s upcoming Aug. 25 meeting.
Less than 72 hours after falling just shy of the four votes needed to extend an emergency ordinance requiring face masks within the city limits of Perry, three of the five city council members made clear they intend to adopt the same wording as a regular ordinance, which can be approved with only three votes in favor.
