A perfect storm of two possible hurricanes battering the area and a rise in district personnel testing positive for COVID-19 delayed the start of the 2020-21 school year by three days this week.
Last Friday, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Danny Glover Jr. announced that “in an abundance of caution” due to the impending storms that were – at that time – barreling toward the Gulf, the beginning of school would be pushed back from Monday, Aug. 24, to Thursday, Aug. 27.
