    Students are greeted by masked staff, plexiglass

    After being out of school for more than five months, students and teachers welcomed one another back with big smiles Tuesday. Safety precautions were in place across the board — from face shields and masks for teachers to plexiglass dividers for students.

    Carrying backpacks nearly as big as themselves, incoming kindergartners and primary school students faced the start of school Thursday with nervous smiles and bridled anticipation.

    Masked staff members met students at the Taylor County Primary School (TCPS) drop-off lane and escorted them inside, where they were greeted by classrooms decorated with colorful signs, posters and one new addition this year – plexiglass dividers at study tables.
