Eligible timber growers can now register to receive much-needed relief from the Florida Division of Emergency Management’s (FDEM) Timber Recovery Funding Program, nearly two years after the infamous category five Hurricane Michael struck the Big Bend region.
The $380 million program seeks to rebuild the Florida panhandle’s crippled timber industry after the destruction of some 550 million trees resulted in a $1.3 billion economic blow from Hurricane Michael.
