5 students, 2 staff positive with COVID

Just one week into the new school year, the Taylor County School District is reporting a low number of positive COVID-19 cases for both staff and students.

The school district’s coronavirus dashboard, which posts daily updates regarding the number of positive cases and quarantined students and staff in the district, shows the following as of Wednesday, Sept. 2:

• Taylor County Primary School: no positive staff members or students; one quarantined staff; and two quarantined students.

• Taylor County Elementary School: one positive staff; one positive student; two quarantined staff; and four quarantined students.

• Taylor County Middle Schools: one positive staff; one positive student; no quarantined staff; and five quarantined students.

• Taylor County High School: no positive staff; three positive students; no quarantined staff; and three quarantined students.

There were no reported cases or quarantines for the Taylor Alternative School (TAS) or Steinhatchee School.
